purchased some new holland red and yellow from dealer .. mixing on it said 8 paint to 1 reducer...sure doesnt go very far.. guess need to go gallon next time..

I pay no mind to the ratios. If spraying Mix in enough thinner so when you lift your stir stick up it runs off in droplets like water. Not in a stream. That's how I was shown and so far it has worked well over the years.

The 8:1 ratio is an average formula but if it's spraying good I would stick with it. It may vary depending on your sprayer and weather conditions. In hot weather the paint would be thinned a little more. You just don't want to over thin it.

I sprayed the yellow with syphon worked o.k. felt it was little runny, worked to keep from running.. sprayed with top gravity flow gun second time around worked better..could have sprayed without reducing in my opinion.. Didnt remember the J.D. paint reducing that much.. oh well.. thanks for your thoughts..

In my opinion a siphon sprayer puts out more volume. If you are getting runs you probably had the sprayer too close to the work or moved too slow.
