Brush paint prep

Anyone use Permatex Rust Treatment beside me. I disassembled my Jubilee six years ago and after wire wheeling all the small parts coated them with the permatex.They have been sitting in the barn in a box since then. I'm revisiting this project and wonder if I'm OK using this treatment. I can only brush paint them with implement paint as I don't have the facilities nor the knowhow to do it better. I just want to restore parts and make it look tolerable for someone else when I'm gone. Your thoughts ?

I would sand anything sitting more than a few days, give paint something to stick too.

Don't count out the sponge type brushes. You will need the USA ones and a lot of back ups because the solvents in the paint loosen the foam. But they get into places others can't.

That's a great plan sir. If you have made your mind for restoration than what are you waiting for.
