Hate my new paint color

Gorms

Alright. What do I do. I painted my tractor last fall and I trusted the Napa guy on the John Deere green color. Paint job turned out great, but I
cannot know I went thru all that work and have to look at a color that I am disappointed with. I have no problem going thru the work to repainted
it but how do I prep a new paint job for a new paint job? Martin Senour Napa paint no clear coat. Thanks.

Assuming the bad color paint is in good condition you should only have to clean it good and go over it with a wax and grease remover to remove oils. Then scuff sand it with 400 grit paper and just spray another coat on. You shouldn't have to use any primer unless you have places where the paint is pealing.

I'm thinking of going to the John Deere dealer and getting classic green. Good idea or is Martin Senour better paint if I get the right color.

I would stay with the same paint brand, there could a reaction if you use a different brand of paint on top of another. If you are using acrylic enamel get the gloss hardener for it.

Are you looking at the tractor inside using florescent lights? They can make colors appear different than sunlight.

What I would do, because it is what I have done, is go to the paint store with a panel that has approx eight inches of flat, and get it digitally analyzed. All of the manufacturers make periodic subtle changes to the shades of their colors. You may think that you have the correct code for what you want but it could be the code for another shade. If you take what you like you have a better chance of getting what you want.

I picked up on this somewhere. The man said he used Flashbond to give the new paint BITE. I dont know about the compatibility. Google it.
