I bought this really nice original MH 55 this fall. What would make a good sealant to keep the look it has even if it sits out occasionally?

Some dealers will spray clear lacquer all over a used tractor to spiff it up to get more money for it, but since the surface is not prepped, it lasts just a few years and then looks awful. Some people spray fuel on them, which of course evaporates off after a few weeks. but at least it doesn't leave half of it behind.

"Fluid Film" will protect that paint. Available at most farm stores or your John Deere dealer.

I would think that fluid film would collect dust until you would not even see the original surface any more. It is my understanding that it lasts for a long long time and stays tacky.

I have always had the opinion if you like the rust look just leave it alone. A clear coating will change the appearance and it won't adhere very well so when that peals you have two different rust looks. I would just keep it covered or in a building on rainy days.
