red paint

86 GMC 7000, red looks good on cab and doors but tilt nose is plastic and dull..tryed everything glaze , compound wax, rubbing compound nothing brings the red back, what do I try next?

Try replacement parts. Other than paint that's about all you can do with plastic.

thanks steve, its the hole tilt nose with front fenders, to much to replace, maby some kindv of paint will stick to it

Cars today have plastic bumpers and they paint them. You would be better off using automotive paint on plastic parts. Since plastic parts bend the thinner the coating the better. You could use an adhesion promoter on the plastic parts and then prime it with epoxy primer. Then use the topcoat of your choice. Epoxy primer has a recoat window so you have to be ready to topcoat it within about eight hours after using the primer.

He is saying...plastic....in reality....that is a fiberglass hood.
