engine paint

Hey guys quick question. I have the front half of my MF135 torn off for various repairs. While i have it all in pieces i want to go ahead and strip things down and put new paint on. What are you guys doing for engine primer? I plan to use epoxy primer on all the non engine parts. Are you just putting like vht paint on the bare metal or some kind of higher temp primer or.. ?
Would also like to carry the same paint color to the rest of the chassis as time permits.

Yep i did pick up two cans of that just in case. Are you guys just using the regular enamel paint for the rest of the machine on the engine too or something higher temp?
Normally i would put vht paint straight on the bare metal and call it a day but would like to make this one a bit longer lasting.

Always better to use primer on bare metal first, but yes enamel can be sprayed on engine if you want everything to match. Sme may not agree but the ones I have painted have lasted pretty well.

Oh on any other metal i absolutely agree. I was more wondering how you guys were keeping a consistent color vs rattle cans for engine and spray gun for the rest.

The only high temp paint is that for the manifold, if you want to keep the paint-- I let mine burn off. Otherwise use the same paint you use for everything else. There is no reason for "engine paint".
