stripping radiator paint

I had the radiator for my NAA fixed recently and the shop did a rather poor job painting it. I took it back and asked them to strip their paint job off and they tried unsuccessfully. I'd like to strip the paint off of everything myself and I'm thinking about electrolysis or maybe oven cleaner but I don't want to ruin the radiator. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You could use a methylene chloride type paint and varnish remover to strip the paint. You just want to stay away from one that contained sodium hydroxide (Lye). It would eat up the solder in the joints. I would recommend Klean Strip. Soak it down real good for 15-20 minutes keeping it wet with the remover and maybe brush it with a brass brush. Then if you have one it would be good to rinse the remover and old paint with a power washer.

One thing I forgot to mention is paint strippers don't do well below 70 degrees. If it's already winter where you are you may have to soak the radiator for an hour or more.
