Ford Fenders

Hi to all, Has anyone found a "EASY" way to paint the raised "Ford" lettering with out making a mess of it? I've seen some fenders that look like "Hogan's Goat", all smeared etc......Any help or direction will be appreciated.....Jim in New Mexico

Try using a high quality pin striping brush and take your time. Put several coats on and let dry between each. Never done them, but Just an idea.

My hobby is pinstriping and sign painting. I think you are talking about script lettering in which case a sign painter could do it for you .{ takes about a year to master script lettering] Or a place like Staples could cut you a vinyl mask and then you can use a brush or special roller. After ten minutes with the paint still tacky you pull the mask thus allowing the edge against the tape to roll over nicely and not leave a taped edge. The paint you need is called 1-Shot lettering enamel.

This tailgate I taped off which took some time for the little radius of the letters. Then it was sprayed with a touch up gun . Truck painted by Maaco and came out real nice.

I simply just panited my hood or fenders and after the paint dried good. I thinned out my ford red and apllied it with a small brush and a lot of patience. It turned out really well. A steady hand is obviously needed. I will upload a picture if i can figure it out.
