Nason paint

Anybody use it for their equipment? Good or bad?

nason is owned by axalta now, it was a dupont paint line. nason is a value line automotive finish. it is a quality lower cost alternative.

I used it for my Ford 901 restoration. I see it as being a great compromise between cheap short life enamel, and the high priced 2K urethanes.

I'm not impressed with Nason and when I used it it was Dupont. On my tractor the exhaust pipe runs up about 2" from the hood and the heat from the pipe blistered the paint. Then the floor board I put six coats of paint there because it would get a lot of wear. Less than 100 hours use on the tractor and metal is starting to show. I think I could get more use with an alkyd enamel.

Thanks for the replies. I had a feeling it was cheap for a reason. I wish the automotive paints could match equipment colors. At least the suppliers around here cannot match.

nason isnt cheap, but it is a value line. it is an affordable production type product. if you were buying used cars, fixing them and selling, nason would be a good choice. some body shops use nason, as a more affordable alternative. i use diamont here at my shop, it is more expensive, but it carries a lifetime warranty from basf. with any paintline, you need to use the mfrs recommended products and stay in their paint line. mixing different mfs products is a recipe for disaster.

I have used Nason on 2 tractors. I think it looks good, and had held up well.

My paint store will digitally match whatever you bring in. I wouldn't call it cheap.

I use nason urethane on my cubs, very durable and long lasting paint. i highly recommend it and its not that cheap.
