White 2-155 colors

I have two White 2-155s. One is a series 1 Sn 278-330-414 and the other is at the tail end of series 2 Sn 291-759-414.
I will be repainting them soon. What I noticed though is that the side panels of the older one are gray with silver stripes and the numbers are black with a white border. Meanwhile the newer one seems reversed that is gray stripes on a silver background and the numbers are white with a black border. They are of course weathered but the difference is still evident.
The paint looks original so did White change the color scheme along the way? I plan on having them both painted the both the same regardless.
I have seen the pictures with the silver stripes on gray posted here (very nice) but I am curious what the gray stripes on silver looks like when new or redone.
I want to choose the nicest color. Right now I am leaning to the silver stripes on gray.
I am asking for insights and opinions please.

I'm not a White guy...But IH 'changed' the coloring on both 66 and 86 series tractors. Added/subtracted a stripe.Black stripe, tri stripe......Case went from orange to black under the white hood. They also changed from 'Desert sunset' to white hoods on the 70 series.AC went from a purple of sorts to black under orange...As for "correct",your call. Paint it any color(s) that suits you the best.A 'matched' pair..How cool is that

Google some images for that model. Then pick out the one you like best, and still be correct. Ben
