the pigment is sun leached out of everywhere it was exposed. You can't "buff it back in"..it's gone. Where decals were..not so much. Clear cote has pretty much eliminated that problem but that yellow may not have had clear cote or was completely painted by body shop some time and they didn't use clear or quality paint either.

The guy gave me touch up paint and clear coat so I would assume that the truck has a clear coat but I don't know . He used one of those eraser wheels to remove the decals so I wonder if that caused some of the different color ? I've checked with the body shop and the will blend the paint for 500$ they are already blending the one side because they are doing sone repair work to the drivers side

if y are painting one side.. might as well dot he other.. unless it's a work truck / or pride thing.

Those eraser wheels are a miracle. I've taken off a lot of decals from large vehicles and never had them damage the finish or alter color.

I would start by buffing the paint to see if you can remove it. More than likely that will do it. Other than repainting that is about all you can do. You could get a cheap 7" autopolisher from harbor freight and get a lambswool bonnet to use on it. Then use some rubbing compound with it. Let the polisher do the work, don't put much pressure on it.
