Good day to all, I am in the preliminary stages of having my MF 35 ( circa 1961 ) re painted. My question to all is what were the original colors and where may be the best source to obtain this paint ? Thanks and be well, JZ

Don't spend good money on paint unless you are doing a good prep job. Don't put cheap paint over a fifty hour prep job. It is worth getting good automotive paint if you are putting a lot of time in it.

A good friend talked me into painting his M F 65 , he wanted to use paint from the M F dealer. I was not in favor of using it as I knew it will fade bad over time and his tractor always sets outside. He did not want to use any hardner either. The finished job looked very nice and he was happy .
I saw the 65 two and a half yrs. latter. It was a very " flat" looking pink. He did not say anything about it , as he saved a few bucks. Its your call about using M F paint. clint

2X about using low bidder dealer paint.

My opinion is that when you leave a machine sit outside for years, you get all sorts of unintended consequences. I think cars and trucks are built to leave outside, but not tractors, lawn mowers, etc. Just ain't meant for it. Are not water-proofed for it, or painted for it, or UV-resistant for it....
