Newly aquired paint guns

Hello all. My name is Justin and thus is my first time posting here. I am a member over on TBN, but found out that this is the place for tractor painting info.

I recently aquired an 83 Ford 3910 that had some front end damage and I'm in the process of fixing it. I would like to paint it once everything is straight.

It just so happens that I aquired a bunch of spray guns for free but not real sure about some of them. There is a Sata Digital RP, a Sata NR 2000, a few Transtar guns, and IR gun and maybe a couple of others. There are also a few other different style (touchup/jam) guns. I'll post some better pics later on today. I am also picking up a self contained gun cleaner too. Any help advice you guys could give would be much appreciated.

(quoted from post at 07:00:52 03/30/16) sata makes top of the line guns. here is a list of the rp gun line
poke here

Thanks a lot for the link. I really appreciate it. The RP gun seems to be a good clear gun but it lays it down fast. The NR 2000 is probably a good base gun based on some the research I've read. For an HVLP gun it seams to be somewhat of an air hog. I've got a nice IR 5.5 hp compressor coming, so I should be able to dial it in for acceptable atomization. Here are a few pics.

This has got to be the most difficult forum I have ever tried to post pics to. Sorry about the rant, but I guess I'm just an idiot.[/url]

Welcome to YT Justin!

I "think" there may a break-in period for new members before picture posting is allowed.

if you are getting a gun cleaner and looking for solvent, for urethane paint we use kleenstrip naked gun gold solvent. works really well, but its on the spendy side, about 180 dollars for 5 gallons. pre rinse the guns before putting them in the gun cleaner, and it will make your solvent last longer. i have a uni-ram gun cleaner here at the shop, has both wash and rinse solvents. spendy tho, couple g's .

Thank you sir! Now that you mention it, I feel like I've seen that on another forum. I guess I need to post more. :)

Thanks a bunch for the info! I'm pretty sure he had/has solvents. Just need to go through everything at his shop. I'll post up what I find and I will also post up the model of the gun cleaner. I have a pic of that kicking around on my phone somewhere.
