Air supplied mask

I've been thinking about buying an air supplied mask to make painting safer. In looking for them I keep seeing ones like on the link where a regular air compressor supplies that air. It includes a couple of filters to clean the air.
Does anyone use one? Are they any good? I would obviously use a different air compressor than the one supplying the air for painting.

i have a whole self contained power system that i used to use when i did lots of welding . no longer even own a welder so rest
of system is for sale. let m know if can work something out or where are you.

Rich; I use a supply air system made by Bullard, it works great. I keep the air compressor intake about 100' upwind from where
I'm painting, wear tyvec coveralls and toilet cleaning gloves. I also wear a resperator when mixing the paint .

Over at the company where I retired, we ran three guys painting at once and all the air came from factory compressor but through extravagant filters. This is for at least 6 hrs actual painting 5 days a week. Compressors in another building.

I have one that does not need a air compressor, thus no filters are needed. It uses outside air downwind to eliminate any paint fumes.

you do not want to use your shop compressor to supply breathing air. the shop compressor can pick up lubricating oil in the air and you will be breathing oil vapor. not the best for your lungs. breathing air compressors use a special oil lubricant.

for my sand blaster I have a suit that get pumped with air. It was set up for a air supply from a compressor but I
didnt like the idea of breathing air from a compressor. So I got a blower out of a gas furnace and used sump pump
tubing to pump air into the suit. I just keep the blower up wind and in a building.

We have a breathecool system for sandblasting and painting. Absolutely love it. They use a turbine type compressor that sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Hobby air is another brand. Just spend the $500 or so and get a real system. You will not regret it.
