Sound dampening

I am restoring a 1967 car. It had some sort of asphalt material stuck to the floors that was very brittle, cracked, and coming off so I have removed it all. I want to replace it plus add significantly more. They make some pretty good stuff for this, though most is foam based. I want something with some weight to it that will stick like glue. I thought of ice and water shield, put down in two layers. My only concern is how it will act when it is hot. I can't imagine that the inside of the car will get anywhere near as hot as a roof in the summer, but on the other hand the Ice and water shield is held down with a lot of nails.

you are looking for q-pads. they are sound deadening adhesive pads. rom your local body shop supplier!!

Those look good. Are they fairly heavy and dense to stop panels from vibrating? As I stated in my original post I am familiar with various products, though not the Q-pads. What do you think about Ice and Water shield? Are you familiar with it?

I used self adhesive duct insulation. It is a foam rubber with foil backing. Got it at Menards. Comes in a roll and is pretty cheap.

Not familiar with that product. We use the q pads to replace the factory sound pads. Pretty much the same stuff.

Lizard Skin, Dynamat or as Glennster suggested Qpads. I helped apply Dynamat, came in a roll I think 10ft long and like 40inchs wide, very easy to lay down.

As I said in the original post I am familiar with various promoted products that are supposed to work well and I am sure that many do. I am not looking for a foam type however because I want one with some weight that will stick strongly to the panel like I am sure Ice and water shield will, I already have some of the foam type.

Why not undercoat from a dealer. I used to spray it on (nasty job), but it works well. Just get it hot.
