Trouble Painting John Deere B

What would cause the spray gun to pulsate when painting? We used a new gravity style gun and also a new canister type. The paint was John Deere Classic green. Hardener and thinner were also from the JD dealer. The air compressor also kept the pressure ok. Any help would be appreciated.

do you have a pressure regulator and gauge on the gun itself? watch your pressure when you are spraying to eliminate an air flow problem. i would also see what side tip you have in the gun. it may be too small for the material. take a little of the paint and reduce it 50% and see how it sprays. if it sprays good, your paint is either too thick, too cold, or the tip is too small. try increasing your gun pressure a little at a time and see if it helps.

What do you mean "compressor kept pressure OK", did you have a regulator between the compressor and the gun?

We found out the problem, the hoes from the compressor to the spray gun was bad. We put a new hose on and it worked fine. The old hose must have had weak spot in it. If we would have had a gauge on the gun we would have found out the problem sooner. Thanks for the help everyone.

Anytime you switch guns due to a problem and still get no spray ,it is some kind of air supply problem. The guns are not that complicated and if clean should not annoy you.
