How bad did I mess up??

I had some PPG Omni MAE that I used on some rim on my MF 230, before I got the supplied air system. I got the supplied air system so I could use hardeners, but instead of picking up the MTK that I bought for the gas tank and rims I mistakenly picked up the MAE and used the MH 168 hardener with it. It seems like it worked ok, I let it sit overnight before taking it off my rack. It seems good and hard, I tried to push a fingernail in it in a hidden spot, and I can but it takes a lot of pressure. It has been less than 24 hours since I painted it. It has a nice gloss to it, just a little darker than I wanted, but I can live with that.
I talked to the paint store and they said I could scuff it up, and seal it with epoxy and then shoot the MTK over the epoxy.
So my question is how bad did I screw up, and would that be a good fix for it.
The MAE should have had the MH 101 hardener not the MH 168 that I used.

The OMNI MAE was #3199 Silver mist metallic
What I wanted to use was OMNI MTK #8568 Aluminum (Argent Silver)
Lesson learned, double check everything before mixing it up……

Your choice. If I had done it (I have done similar things a couple of times), I would leave it alone, at least for rims and hope it works. They will likely be ok. If it was part of the sheet metal, I probably would do what the paint person said.

Here is a couple of picture. Thanks for the reply CNKS, I am inclined to leave it alone, As I said it is harder now than the MAE was after 3 days without the hardener.

I buy the Napa hardeners and use them with all my paints, the low solids for enamel and high solids for urethane.
