Newer caseih hood material

Ok guys I have a puma 200 hood. I have a
crack in the hood. I'm just wondering what
kind of material caseih is making the hoods
out of. They don't seem like fiberglass to
me. Thanks for the info.

Probaby SMC plastic. Sheet molded compound. Common in the automotive industry. Any body shop supply will have the smc repair compounds.

How do you tell if it is SMC plastic? I had a headlight bracket that was made out of some kind of plastic and it was broken in a minor fender bender. I made an attempt to plastic weld it back together but what ever it was burned from the hot iron instead of melting. I ended up having to repair the bracket with fiberglass and I really don't think the bracket was fiberglass. It broke off clean instead of being fuzzy.
