Cutting a larger exhaust hole in the hood

Someone cut the opening of the hood all the way to the edge of my F-20 hood. This way the hood could be removed without removing the steering shaft and having to lift it up over the exhaust pipe. I welded it shut, and I am quite sure that I will need to enlarge n the hole. Any ideas on how to adjust the opening? I have a burr bit and an angle grinder. I don't know of a better way to cut a curved uneven surface, without damaging the hood. The opening is in a section of the hood that transitions from the narrow to the wide end. I have a sawsall and a jig saw also, but I don't think I can cut a nicely shaped hole with them. Ideas anyone???
Thank you

I don''t have one, but do you think it would deform the metal as it cuts?
Could it cut a tight radius and trim a little metal from the edge of a hole?
Thank you

My son-in-law has a Bosch electric nibbler he uses making dirt stock car bodies. It will make quick scrap metal out of a badly wrinkled car. I was surprised at the thickness he has cut, and all radius sizes too. Worth a look in pawn shops if you can.

My Super M hood was all screwed up from a loose muffler with the clamp beating in the hood for years. I laid a 1x6 board under it and attached it to the hood with a hand full of small screws around the inside if the hole, then found a center that would swing a holesaw just outside of the screws. I've got a holesaw with an adjustable arm with a tool bit kind of thing sticking down from the end. Turned it counter clockwise to scribe a nice clean line, cut it out with sabre saw and cleaned it up with half round file. Took about 3/16" out of it and came out good.

Normally I would say use a bi-metal hole saw but I get the feeling you need the hole there where you have been welding. That would take the teeth off the saw. If that is the case then I probably would get a grinding wheel for a drill and modify the hole.
