Bottom line if you are not a perfectionist, you can get by with Valspar. I have used it several times and several times I have been disappointed. I bought a new 14,000 lb tilt trailer about 4 years ago it had a big sticker on it that said painted with Valspar. It is yellow and it changed shades 4 times. 1 for every summer.

A lot depends on the color. A color with red in it doesn't hold up very well. I painted a Kubota tractor with it and you could almost see it fading daily. After six years the orange tractor is peach colored now.

I just painted my 8N with Valspar, using the hardener. It sprays well if properly thinned and looks fine (or at least as good as my surface prep allowed). My only comment is that the paint, after 2 days of curing, curled up when exposed to gasoline for a few minutes. But at a tenth of the cost of spraying an automotive lacquer, it's good enough.

I have several restored show I.H. reds, painted in Valspar Automotive Poly-Urethane with hardener single stage .I am very pleased by the look and durability so far. Oldest being about four years painted
