Hi all, Im getting ready to paint my 58 Ford 641 Workmaster.I would like a recommendation on a single stage urethane paint that will not break the bank. Are there any manufacturers other than the top auto paint suppliers that sell a good urethane? Thanks for any help? Glenn

I would go with PPG Concept. All automotive paint is a little expensive except when you consider you can paint once and be done with it. Also what you need to consider in the expense is you will need an air supplied respirator. Urethane paints are used with a isocyanate hardener which will do a lot of damage to your lungs just painting one tractor. I painted one using a standard paint respirator and tried to stay upwind from the paint and held my breath when down wind. After I was done I coughed for six months.

This question has been answered a number of times, that most manufacturers have different grades, and that the lower level urethane is a big step up from acrylic enamel but a lot less money than the high priced automotive. You are wise to go after good quality paint for a red tractor.

I used PPG's single stage on my Troy Bilt tiller in 2005. Still looks good as I keep it sheltered. Hal

I've had good luck with Nason. I painted buses that
were never shedded and the paint looked great at
10 years on.
