801 ford paint color

I had some Nason paint red and gray mixed. I bought red and gray from the dealer today and the colors don't match at all. The dealer red is real pinkey and the gray is a light yellowish army jeep color. Has anyone used the dealer paint before? The gray from Nason is a light gray and the red is a little lighter then a farmall red. Looking for any opinions. Thanks Ed

Having trouble finding it too. Local places only have some spray cans of the red which is not how I want to paint the thing. Thinking about getting a can of the red and gray and having a local parts store mix me some. Good luck.

InspectorVol. I also put this on the ford section and one guy sent me pics of his tractor with ford paint which I use on my farmalls from the IH dealer, same paint. I had it mixed from my paint guy and the color wasn't the same. The paint that I used on my farmalls holds up good and goes on good. You can look on the ford section and there is pictures of an 861 painted. Thanks ED

All the local New Holland place had was a spray can of the old ford red from 39 to 62 #M1J-956-SE5DSLF

The gray is gray enamel from 39 to 62 # M1J- 957- SE2D5

To me it looks like the red does not match what is left on the tractor. What is left looks a bit more orange. Guy at the dealership said that is typical of older tractors and paint fade.

InspectorVol. Your never going to get the exact color. I think the pics on my ford post look great. I live in MD and some ford dealers have the paint and some don't. If you have an IH dealer close they might have it. I got mine from an IH dealer but they also have a ford dealer too. Good luck. ED

Good news, the spray can red from the dealership matched really well especially considering the age difference.
