i am looking for good qaulity case paint(flambeu red and desert sand). i was thinking vansicle but is it any good? just want it good and not too exspensive.

unfortunately, like in a lot of things, good and cheap dont go together. the alkyd enamels, like the farm and fleet brands, are inexpensive paint. performance of the product reflects the cost. a step above is the modified alkyd enamels for the implement dealers, like case i-h , deere ect. a little more money, a little better paint. for the weekend warrior or a working tractor, it works well. adding hardener improved the performance of the product. if you move up to an automotive type , acrylic enamels, or urethanes, your material cost go up exponentially. in a napa crossfire urethane, single stage, between primers and paint and additives, you can easily hit the 800 to 1 g mark for materials. and the quality of the paint and longevity reflects that.

Painted a IH tractor with red Van Sikle spray paint cans, and every piece of the tractor developed a white film. Took a few months, and it was sitting inside the barn, no sun exposure, but every piece. The red color was close to IH red, but not quite there. But the white filme was really objectionable.
I spraayed over it with Case-IH dealer's red, andit was great, did not develop any white film. Color was perfect, just like the new IH tractors on the lot.
Van Sickle is not for me, at least.

I use Vansyckle Case Flambeau red paint in spray cans and in gallons. It has worked very well for me.
