I am going to wax my p.up and car and wondering what you boys use for a lasting shine. Need to buff out a small scuff also, what may be a good product for that?

Thanks

I only use McGuires products. I used to show my old cars and that's when I got used to using their products. Their Scratch X is fantastic and will take out about any smaller scratch.

Wax with carnauba in it is a standby for show cars.

For daily drivers that don't get waxed much I use NuFinish liquid. It's petroleum based, but holds up a long time and it's easier than most to apply and buff. I don't know if it's "the best" but it works OK for me.

I made a mistake once and grabbed a can of Johnson's floor wax instead of the can of car wax right beside it, to do my '55 Chevy wagon. It took forever to buff out, but had one heck of a shine on it.

We pulled out on a 6 month deployment about a month, or so, later, and my parents got my car and took it home. Dad said nearly 3 months after we left he decided to wash it. He said the water beaded and ran off so fast he had a problem getting it wet.

When we got back from the deployment it had been 7 months plus since it had been waxed. I went to wash it and had the same problem Dad had, the water beaded and ran off as fast as it hit the surface. I can't remember exactly how long it went before the water stopped beading to the point that I re-waxed it, but I'm thinking it was around a year and a half.

If you can stand the hand buffing, or if you have an electric buffer, give the floor wax a shot. I know for me it lasted WAY longer than anything else I ever tried.
