imron paint

First thing is, your going to wait to get a breathing supply before you use it. Other than that it works good At least I've had good luck with it.

Make sure you get the right breathing equipment. We have several guys around here that didn't use the right breathing equipment and carry an oxgen bottle with them all the time.

Air supply--no respirator will keep out the isocyantes in the hardener for the type of paint Imron is (urethane). Enamel does not have to have hardener, but works better with it, then you also need an air supply.

Use two coats of paint. Apply the first coat wet, almost like you were doing only one coat, let the first coat tack up, when you touch the tape or masking tape the paint wont stick to your glove, then apply your second coat wet. You will get excellant gloss and a smooth finish.
And use a good fresh air breathing system.

Imron is mostly easy to work with but somewhat expensive. You might consider centari with a hardner Fresh air is important.

You guys got me a little worried, because I only used a good respirator while spraying 3 coats of polyurethane valspar on my rims -- up close and personal, doing those insides.

Might be common sense but some advice I have to offer re respirators, is to be [b:8493b53fc1]clean shaven[/b:8493b53fc1] if that is the route you take. I saw a guy take off his respirator once, and the part of his beard that was within the confines of the respirator was filled with body filler dust because of the compromised mask to face sealing.

(quoted from post at 19:12:16 01/13/15) See the link. I did not read about it, but ignore the top line. I'm using the Hobby air supply I bought in 2002.
