i had my carb on my 43John Deere AR rebuilt. it was blasted etc and looks great. i do not want to paint it is there a sealer that i could put on that would prevent rust and corrosion?

a clear coat will keep the rust at bay, but not much will keep gas that drips/leaks out from muffing up the clear coat.

Actually a clear coat with hardener will not be affected by gas [[or everybodys car would have no paint under the gas filler area]. But do you want to spray a carb with that I'm not sure . It may get in the shafts and gum it up. Eastwood make a cast iron grey paint in a spray can that may work for awhile.

Just a thought, Rustoleum makes a series of paints, and the Hammered Aluminum spray paint looks to me just like galvanizing. If you spray it like I do, you might get all sorts of runs and drips, when it dries it looks just lilke galvanizing. Buy a can and try sometihng else first, can't lose.

Bob if you look at Roberts carb repair video there is a solution to dip them in so they don't rust. I don't remember the name but if you call them I'm sure they will help you out. Merry Christmas, Bob
