Ah crap - Phosphoric acid

So I was using some phosphoric acid this weekend to neutralize some rust on a mobile home roof. Hosed it all off and spray/drops landed on the boss's car. Now I am in deep (words don't need to be said the stare of death is enough). It is a blue car and everywhere the acid hit it is dark blue. Feels like it has chewed up the clear as the dots move under pressure of your finger nail. How badly am I hosed? Can I get a body shop to buff out the marks and reclear or am I looking at repainting the panels?

Thanks.

This was my chuckle for the night. You did not see that coming with bosses car under your work area?

I would bet it is etched pretty deep and rubbing compound will not get it, but try a patch, you might get lucky.

I have a movie called Cut & Buff [ something like that] . You won't know until you try. I found a buffer made for polishing cars did not have the RPM to make the compound cut right . So if you do it yourself you will need a professional tool not a hobby quality buffer. What took me several hours on my Moms keymarks could have been buffed out in an hour if I used my old Black and Decker instead. The slower RPM just wasn't doing it.You also have to know how to not burn through paint on sharp endges.

I dripped some on my cellar floor and never heard the end of it.Can't imagine the grief she's giving you.

Well it looks like a repaint. Oh well I guess I didn't want to keep $3500. Youch that is going to hurt.
