I used about a 1/4 of a can and being careful that the sealing grove did not fill with por-15...I put the lid back on....went to use it 2 weeks later..can not get the lid off...glued on good.it was stuck to the inner edge...i had to peel off the lid like sardine can...i got a new can from the paint store and empty it in A NEW CAN...... morel of the story.....always clean your cans sealing area.. SOME STRONG STUFF...

cover the can with saran wrap before you put the lid on. the stretch wrap will keep the lid from sticking.

You can also take a q-tip and rub some vaseline in the valley where the lit seats. It's also a good idea to take a punch and make some relief holes for it to drain back into the can.

I have used probably 6 or 7 gallons over the last 10 years. I always put some of the wife's plastic wrap on the top of the can and then press the lid on as tight as I can get it. Haven't had any problem with the lid sticking. Did have a lid that was stuck on a gallon can direct from the factory. Had to cut that one off and pour the contents into quart cans that I had here. If I remember correctly the instructions that comes with the cans tell you to do this and you should't have any problem.
