hydrogen embrittlement after electrolysis

I just read that electrolysis causes hydrogen embrittlement and that it weakens the metal unless you heat the part to 375 for 4 hours. I am doing two wheels tonight. Has anyone had any metal fatigue problems with parts that were de-rusted with electrolysis?

i've done a ton of tractor hoods and fenders in large tubs with electrolysis. none of them have developed stress cracks or breaks from running and vibrating ?? I'm no metalurgist and havn't stayed in a HIE in a few years.. so those are just my observations.

I've done 13-16" tractor rims too.. but those don't see highway speeds

anyone else know about this?

I treated the front tricycle cast piece of a super c with electrolysis 5+ years ago and haven't seen any issues. I think the whole subject is overblown. Its difficult for me to believe that anything other than the very surface could be effected.

I have done electrolysis before but have never heard of hydrogen embrittlement.

If you are concerned 375* for 4 hours can be done in a household oven.
