painting ford 3000 ?s

just got a new clutch in my ford 3000, and while I have it apart I figured why not paint it, how much of the old paint would you all try to remove, or would you sand it and primer? it is a workin tractor and refuse to sandblast it. how would you all go about it

and would a gallon of blue be enough? and how much white for the stripe, wheels, etc.

Is the current paint on it peeling?

power wash , degrease and dry.

if the current paint is not peeling or flaking, i would sand the tin and hit the cast some with a wire wheel.

primer it and paint it.

yes, a gallon will get her covered.

2 quart will do the fenders and rims. decals likely will be white striped...

i used to use valspar paint.. but NLA.. have been using nason single stage syn enamil. more money, but not bad.

you might find tisco alkyd.. not sure it is any cheaper.. that or CIH apint ... etc. might be a hair cheaper.
