body filler recomendation.

I need to use some body filler on my John Deere 60 hood and nose cone. Mostly where I had to weld up a couple of stress cracks. Our local NAPA store sells paint supplies and they sold me some filler that had small fiberglass in the filler. Will this be ok for a very thin application or should I use something without fiberglass in the filler?

no matter what kind of filler you end up using it is usually pretty thick to use as a skim coat. I add just a little bit of fiberglass resin to thin it up. Works great and does not weaken the filler at all. Been using it for years. Just add enough to make it the consistency you want. Dries in pretty much the same amount of time. Sands and finishes easily.

we use roberlo maxifill lightweight filler here at the shop. easy to work with, excellent performance without pin-hole-ing. for a final its usc icicng, a pourable polyester filler, 2 part. feathers excellent.
