I just inherited a sears and roebuck running gear from my grandparents farm sale. It has been kept on the barn floor for at least 36 years, its in great shape! My question to all of you is, was there a special tool to getting the hubs off? I want to start restoring it and get the grease off wheels to paint!

Are you talking of the dust covers on hubs? I have two sears and Roebuck running gears. They are not the same. One you take out a small stove bolt and cap pulls off and the other is like a car you can take channel locks and pull it off or use a screw driver and pry it off.
