Baking soda blaster conversion

Thinking about converting my pressure blaster to use soda. Anybody have any experience with this? The residue can be washed off with water but flash rust may be a problem. Does Picklex have a reaction with baking soda?

Picklex contains phosphoric acid, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is a base. Depending on how much of each is used, the acid or base can be neutralized by the other. However the only baking soda left after blasting will be residue, so Picklex should still prevent rust. I would blow the baking soda off with compressed air rather than water. Also, I don't paint over Picklex until I have scuffed off the residue and used wax and grease remover before painting. Picklex does not need to be washed off so water is not a factor.
