White rims on my ford 2000 have rust, not flakey, just bleeding thru white paint. Do not have access to sandblaster. Was just going to wire wheel them, then rustolium primer and rustolium paint. Any better way? Want to leave the rubber on.

I had the same problem with the wheels on my semi truck. I needle scaled them primer them and painted with rust white paint and it still bled thru so I put stainless cover on them. Good luck hope to find a cure for this to. Good luck

That will work well for looks for three-four years but it will accelerate the rust because it will never completely dry out under the paint. Finally the rust will push the paint up and crack it.

To get Lasting results You are gonna HAVE TO SandBlast/ Soda them to get that Rust off! otherwise, like others have Said... it will be a constant thing..Larry

You do not want to wait like I did on my Sears lawn trailer. I would remove the tires and remove any paint and rust. Then spray them with an epoxy primer. My rims rusted through and I had install inner tubes in tubeless tires. It has never been sheltered in over 40 years. Hal
