First time spraying b/c

Here's a pic of my Farmall M puller. The sheet metal is just sitting on the tractor for now, not bolted down. I shot the chassis with acrylic enamel flat black. The sheet metal is base coat/clear coat Toreador Red Metallic. Both paints are Martin-Senour from NAPA.

This is the first time spraying b/c for me. Overall I'm very pleased with the results. Easy to spray and the finish is awesome. I did about 8 coats of clear on the sheet metal.

Is it possible to spray a flay clear over the chassis to help keep it cleaner? I love the flat black look but it shows every speck of dirt.

Good job and welcome to the world of BC/CC. 3 coats is plenty even if you have to sand and buff some. Any more is just wasted money. Any black whether flat or gloss is going to hold dust. Clean it with compressed air and air nozzle and clean paint brush used together.

Thanks for the advice and compliments. Good idea on the compressed air.

The pic doesn't do the color justice. It is really deep and has a decent amount of flake in it. I think it was in the foreign cars paint book for somewhere in the late 90s.
