I have not used it personally, but I am in the market to paint a snowplow I just got and I've been reading up on my options. From what I can gather, since TSC switched from Valspar to Majic people are generally dissatisfied with it.

I can get Rust-oleum Pro in Safety Red at Walmart which should be close enough for my plow.

Just sprayed some primer from tsc this week. Topcoated 26 hours later only to realize the sorry stuff hadn"t dried yet. Stay away, Biggest waste of money. Now I"ve got to strip and redo. I will never stray from Valspar again.

Here is a 1941 Massey 101 Super painted with Majic paint in Sept..It did take a long time to dry..

Yes keep that 101 out of the sun!!

I bought a $6000 trailer that had a sticker on it that said Valspar. Paint is soft and fading, Bottom line good paint is expensive and you won't
find [t at Tractor supply or Wal-Mart either

I bought the blue paint on my garden tractor from a New Holland dealer. It was about $20.00 for a quart of acrylic enamel and the light almond is Dupont's acrylic enamel and it was about $30.00 for a quart. I had to buy the epoxy primer and a surfacer plus thinner. It's easy to spend $100.00 or more. The tractor was painted in 2010. Hal

Any type of enamel primer takes several days to dry. In the middle of the summer it would take 3-4 days for enamel primer to be dry enough to wet sand.

I'm getting ready to start my first paint job on a
Case model S. I want to try the Valspar. Should I
start with the Anti-Rust Armor Primer? Any idea how
much I'll need, a quart or gallon? I plan to brush
it on since I have no spraying facilities.
Also, what color should the finish coat be for a
1947 Case?
Thanks,
Tom

used it on a tiller handle bars for my dad.. looked real pretty after done..nice and shiney..smoothed out nicely.. UNTIL.. it didnt dry very good and when I thought it was dry I laid it on a towel to remove taped areas and the towel pattern was left on the handle bars..Id prob use it again but not on something I expected to keep around and keep nice.

Majic paint is not very good quality. some refer to it as "super run and drip".
I have had good luck using Vansickle paint on two tractors, a plow, a JD corn planter, and several other implements.

To all of you asking about the tractor supply paint. The paint is only sold by them. They have no idea how to spray it. So I will start with this. If you are trying to spray this like you would any other enamel paint DON'T. if you are trying to use the cheep Majic paint DON'T. I built and finished a 40 goose neck trailer last year. I had a lot of the same problems that you guy's are complaining about when I used the lower end Majic paint. After several call talking with the R&D department at Rustoliums Majic pants department. They sent me 2 Gallons of implement grey primer and 2 gallons of implement gloss black paint. They explained to me the prossess of how to apply these paints. To start you need a gravity feed gun with a # 11 tip for the primer and a # 14/15 tip for the paint. This will be the tricky part for all of you old timers like me. You don't spray this paint at high volumes 30/40 PSI. you spray this at 14/18 psi. Yes that is correct low pressures. You should all ways spray indoors when possible but it was not a possibility for me with a 40 foot long trailer. I sprayed this out in the direct sunlight with the temp around 105 yes 105 and the humidity was around 80%. The paint laid down like a dreem and is holding up to the every weekend hauling of my pulling tractors quit well. I will use this paint in the future and will NEVER use VANCICAL paint again.
