Clearcoat turned cloudy

Last eve I painted clearcoat onto some red parts. I didn't finish until late. I asked my wife to bring the parts inside giving three hours drying time then carry inside. Oops she forgot . This morning parts were dew covered and cloudy, very cloudy. Google --some sites say it may buff out .I'm thinking wet sand and reclear. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Cloudy is moisture plain and simple. Trapped probably between the base and clear. I would sand and then once open, let set in hot sun for a few days before re doing. There's a chance it may delaminate at sometime in the future but only alternative would be to sand at least all the clear off since the cloudy moisture layer is more than likely between the clear and base. Good luck. Not a good place to be.

If that happens with lacquer,recoat under dry conditions useing slow thinner.

What type of paint/clear are you using? I've never had anything like that happen with urethane. Were you painting in some unusual conditions?

I was painting outside in nice weather . The problem was at night when I didn't bring the parts inside. The morning dew caused moisture to cloud the surface. I wet sanded with 800 1000 1500 2000 and buffed out with a lambs wool but on a faster RPM sander and it came back to full gloss.It was basecoat /clearcoat uro Matrix brand.
