Tractor Supply Majic spray paint

Consider yourself warned... Do not waste your time with this epic product failure. Aside from the fact that out of the 3 cans of the stuff that I have bought, all of them have had some issue with the spray nozzle. On the first can I was able to resolve the issue. The second can I was not and had to return it. This third can just sprayed in a stream vs a mist. Thank goodness a run isn't going to ruin my day here but you get the idea.

This product does not dry quickly either and is still tacky 8+ hours after applied. Yes it was applied properly. You have been warned.

You are so right. Absolutely the worst paint product
I have ever used. I always had good results with
Valspar paint this Majic paint is a poor
replacment.I will not be using any more of it

it is an alkyd based industrial enamel. it is made from soybeans. for a low cost implement paint, shoot it from a spray gun and use the catalyst/hardener. it is what it is.

I have used at least ten gallon of it. Probly more. I have never had those problems but I do use the hardener. Fading is the biggest problem. Also not a good match to what it is labeled for.
Oliver and Allis Chalmers are the two main colors I use but have used one gallon of IH red. I use the John Deere yellow as a tint to bring the Oliver and the Allis Chalmers closer to the proper colors. Thinning properly and straining it well should make it spray consistent. Not the best paint for sure but a cheap way to keep rust away on outside stored equipment.

I agree the paint is bad. So, does anyone know where you can get Valspar Restoration paint which I found great. I can find a source.

I painted a trailer with chassis saver and then topcoated it with that tsc paint and it still wasn"t dry the next day even with hardener. I only use imron or urethane paint now any implement paint is a waste in my opionion.

Go to what you use for a search engine and type in Valspar paint dealer locater once in their site they will have a place to search for dealers in your area.

Valspar has a very broad range of paint products you still need to pick the quality that you want out of their line.

If he finds a Valspar dealer they should be able to get him what he wants or knows a dealer that stocks it.

I guess your right. I have not tried their rattle cans. I bought a Ford gray a while back to do a breather grill but have not popped the lid yet.

Dick, What model Ford do you have?

Majic paint is also know as "super run and drip"

Yes, it does not cover well and is just too thin. Fading, yes. Farm King stores, Farm and Home supply carry it...
just not a good product.

I have had good result with VanSickle paint. Have done some CASE tractors with it and a JD corn planter(two row) Is hard to find is the problem. Orschlein farm stores carry Van Sickle.
Glad to learn about the Valspar........

There is a video on you tube. A guy painting a 841 Ford with magic paint. he says you have to wait 24hrs between coats.

I haven"t tried any and don"t plan too. Van sickle paint is available from nnalert.com. They sell it under a different name, but Van Sickle made it.

van sickle has two colors I"ve found that are no where near the correct color. One is AC persan orange ( it"s too light) and the other is the Ford red/orange. ( it"s brown!)

Used lots of Van Sickle on my "H", went on perfect, smooth, glossy, no runs no drips no errors, then over a few months sitting inside the barn, in the shade, it all developed a nice white film. Never again.
