I know there has been tons of conversation about IH paint colors and in particular the IH 1102B. My tractor which my grandfather bought new was manufactured in November of 49'. This would have it painted the 1102B.
I have started restoration and have found may locations (inside the side rails, steering parts, etc.) where you can see the original paint. I am concerned if my local paint supplier (NAPA) will not be able to get a good match with the camera.
I have read somewhere that the new modern CASEIH red seems to be a close match in some's eyes. Has anyone tried painting a tractor with it?
I took a piece of metal and painted it with the rattle can version just to see how it looks. My first observation it came out with a little pink to it, which the old color had. It also appears to be a brighter red versus the orange color you get with the 2150. I am strongly considering.
Any thoughts, advice or opinions?
