Tractor body work

When searching for a person to do body and sheet metal work on tractor fenders. Does it matter if that person/shop has any tractor experience. Or is body work / sheet metal work all the same? How does a person locate a good person/shop other than google or the yellow pages.
What do you all have to say.. Thanks

Where would you take your car if wrecked?? Hopefully NOT Google method. It's actually easier than auto sheet metal bacause it is heavier and not HS steel. Even better than a body shop that does collision work would be a restoration shop. And remember, all body men are not the same quallity. It's 2/3 ability and 1/3 attitude.

I took my sheet metal to a custom metal fabrication shop that specializes in restoring older vehicles. He had the equipment and the knowledge to do a perfect job. Don't know if he had ever worked on tractors before but it didn't matter, had material on hand to patch the fenders ,grill and hood as needed at a reasonable price. He was recommended to me by a regular welding shop that would not tackle the job because of the thin gauge metal.

Bodywork is bodywork. The difference is the quality level someone will give you. You've got body/paint guys will will half a55 it, others who will do production quality, and ones who will do show quality work. I aspire to the latter. You have to be clear about what you want too. Do you want the rust pits on the inside filled too? So that it looks like a new panel? Do you want the out of the gun finish -a production amount of orange peel? Or wet sanded smooth and buffed? You should also know what products will be used, what should be used. Are you going to get the parts stripped before taking them to the body guy(either yourself or to a shop that will do the right type of stripping for you), or do you want him to do that?
