Primer on Ferguson

Hi guys, I have my Ferguson TO-30 all cleaned up and primed with a coat of VanSickle Flat Dark Grey Primer, should I do a second coat? It seemed to coat pretty well, but I just wanted to see what you guys though, my thinking is another coat never hurt, or does it? :) Let me know what you think! Thanks, Bryce

Depends on the directions on the primer. Most primer must be re-coated before completely dry or else it must be sanded for adhesion. Depends on what you are expecting the primer to do. If you just want it to supply adhesion and corrosion resistance then one is fine as long as complete coverage is obtained. If you want it to fill in pits and imperfections then 3 or 4 because you will sand off 2 getting rid of flaws. If you only put on one then I would scuff it with scotchbrite pad as apposed to sand paper becaust you will more than likely sand through to bare metal and have to hit it again.
