anyone use any paint from magnet paint company ?

i am getting ready to paint the 1486 and after a bad experience with ppg omni [they sold me red koolaid] i got some of their acrilic urethane paint. the price was right and i will find out sometime this week if they are as good at making paint as their web page shows.

I used the PPG Omni paint on my Troy Bilt tiller in 2006. Still looks great. It was their 71310
paint code.

I have purchased from PPG for 11 years, no problems except one slightly off color 2150/71310--what is the red cool aid?? There was a new employee that somehow messed it up. PPG's mixing process takes a large error to make any difference. I don't order paint because I am not familiar with it and usually don't know how much I need. Much easier to buy paint from 7 miles away than have to order it. Excellent service from the local dealer.

after three coats it wasn"t covering at all. very thin and the carquest dealer wouldn"t admit anything was wrong with the paint. he said that omni is cheap paint and it"s going to be thin. i bought a gallon of the same stuff at the same place a month before to paint a 706 and it worked fine. told the guy that i didn"t think that $116 a gallon was cheap paint and that i would never be back.

I have used it several times. It is easy to work with and so far as durable as anything else I have used. They don"t have the color selection that bigger companies do, but I will use it again for farm equipment.

2150 is not thin, although others have had complaints -- those, not you, simply don't know how to adjust the gun and how to use it. The Omni I buy is approaching $150/gallon including hardener and reducer. I think 11 years ago it was about 80. The next step up, Concept, I believe is thicker, and matches OEM colors better, local dealer says he can see the difference in a few years. I use base clear which adds more UV protection from the clear, I doubt if it fades very much if at all. But, that adds another hundred or so for the clear. -- obviously your dealer is at fault and has no knowledge of what he sells.
