On- line paint

I know nothing about the paint or the company, but IMO the fancier the wording the worse the paint, I probably shouldn't say that. But the reasons I don't do internet shopping for paint is that the shipping cost will negate much of the cheaper price, and I never know how much I need. I have a reliable dealer so I just pay the price. PPG raises their price twice a year, the dealer does not absorb the price.

Pat there has been a WHOLE LOT on here about the chemical make-up of good vs. cheap paint. I would go with the correct ingredients for the job at hand as opposed to dealer vs. TSC or online vs. paint jobber.

I used tcp globals paint on two trucks. Acrylic urethane both times. It was easy to work with, and trucks still look good 2 years later. I tried Napa first, and then PPG and neither one could get the color I wanted. (Or didn't want to put the effort in for a few gallons) TCP has a huge selection of color chips and had the colors I wanted. On a rolls royce maybe I would use something else, but I was pretty pleased with it overall. I'd use it again.

PPG generally takes a price increase once a year on all their automotive lines. It is coming up the end of this month.

I think it is twice a year -- Their paint is aimed at body shops, not us--the body shops can pass the cost on, and PPG gets more money. Someday they are going to price me out of the market, maybe.
