Painting a Grain Bed

Next month's project is to paint my 1966 IH Loadstar grain truck. The cab is a straightforward automotive paint job. I am at a loss though on what to do with the grain bed. It is of mostly wooden construction with very little metal. What kind of paint should I use on the bed. Using PPG seems a tad expensive on an old wooden bed.

thanks

A medium grade paint between automotive paint and an alkyd you might consider would be Sher Kem enamel from Sherwin Williams.

I just went to my local Ace Hardware store and bought a gallon of implement paint.Worked pretty good, looks good too.Talk to your 'paint expert'.They can steer you in the right direction. They custom mixed the color, too.Heres a pic of the truck.

thanks for the responses. I tried to go the sherkem route but my local SherwinWilliams store swore up and down they could not get or color match IH red. I find that hard to believe and just attribute it to poor customer service at that location. I will go the alkyd route from the farm store. Not ideal but it is stored inside so it should be ok for a while.
