Remove Oil Film

Painted my tractor a couple of years ago and since
then it has developed some small leaks around the block and transmission. What can I use to remove the oil film without harming the paint. Would like something to spray on and hose off if possible. Thanks.

Use something that is solvent based as opposed to caustic. A good choice would be a product with Dlimonene in it. That is the stuff that smells like orange peels. In fact it comes from orange peels.

Any "light" solution such as 409. You can also use wax and grease remover very carefully, don't leave it on the surface or scrub too hard as it can remove paint.

What about dawn dish soap? It's what cleans all the oil off the animals in the oil spills. I've never tried it personally, I've always used wax and grease remover. Not engine degreaser. Its wax and grease remover for wiping a car down before you paint it. It's a much milder solvent than paint reducer.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think I will dilute the suggested de-greaser 50/50 with water and see how it works. Thanks Again for your help.

I"ve used regular dish washing soap before and it works pretty good! Well, ya figure egg yoke left on a plate for only a couple of hours is pretty tough and it takes care of that and the plate is "squeaky" clean with no soapy residue!!
Damn!, I"ve gotta get back to the garage!! I"m starting to sound like a product "Pitchman" or worse yet a "WOMAN"!!! Ha!Ha! LOL!! Just jokeing, Of Course Ladies!!
