Bought a new fresh air system

I used to do some spray painting and use a respirator but have not done any for years. Now I need to paint a Krause offset I bought HobbyAirII which I have wanted for years. It has the full face mask. I am curious, can I use a regular garden hose quick coupler to connect the hose to the unit or would it restrict too much airflow? I do my painting outside still. Any other advice?
 
$572 and with shipping $624. Now I feel like painting again. I should have bought one of these years ago. I know many use them by looking at forums.
 
I don't think there will be too much restriction, if there is you will notice it--as long as you are satisfied with the amount of air, it's ok.
 

When I bought one, it came as a kit. I got the unit, hood and the hose togather. I ordered two sections of hose as I paint outdoors and have the unit inside so it don't pick up any fumes. The hose looks like garden hose, but it's a see through hose with a quick coupler on the end that hooks by you belt.
 
Yes that is what I bought it has 80 foot of clear hose two 40 footers. That is something I have not thought about having it inside.
 
I have a complete fresh air system I used when welding.. that has fased out now no longer need air system. it for sale if interested
 
when the cheapie connector broke on my hose, I put a rubber coated brass garden hose one on and it works awesome. The only thing I had to do was that there is a little inner piece that I had to punch out since when they are filled with water you don't want stuff spraying out when you disconnect and thus the shutoff do dad. One that was out (quick tap with a hammer and bolt), it is perfect. Couldn't be happier. Much better than the plastic cheapie that came with it.
 
Mine has a brass quick coupler that attaches the mask hose to the main hose. Getting about ready to get some primer and paint on.
