I"m about to start working on a John Deere 40. Main concern right now it getting it running to use for work. It won"t ever be a parade tractor.
That said, I don"t won"t it to go down hill and be a rust bucket and I want to keep it original.
I was thinking of buying a hand sander, and if I need to take something off that has surface rust, sand it and primer it with a can of spray primer. Just to keep the surface rust from taking over. Then maybe somewhere down the road, getting it painted right
I know nothing about painting! Is this a no-no, will the can primer not last?
Main goal is to get the tractor going for work and keep it going uphill rather than downhill.
Thanks
