I am going to buy a HVLP sprayer and would like to know what size tip I will need? I will be spraying enamel on my tractor and I would also like to use the same gun for spraying some water base latex on another project. Would there be one tip for both jobs or do I need two different tips? If so what size is recommended. You can probably tell by now this is my first attempt at air spraying. Just purchased a 15 Gal., 200PSI, 1.6HP Compressor and now looking at sprayers.

Your compressor is probably too small unless you keep waiting for it to catch up. My compressor is about 4 actual HP, 60 gallon that puts out 15 cfm. The compressor needs to cycle, yours won't, so you will have to wait for it to rebuild pressure. For automotive paint the topcoat will take a 1.3 mm to 1.5 mm tip. 1.5 mm is probably ok for most primers, 1.8 for high build primers. Your gun was not designed for latex. If you use it for that my guess is 1.8-2.0-up, if it works at all. Better to get an airless sprayer or just brush or roll it on. Actually I prefer a roller for latex instead of an airless sprayer.
