painting a farmal BN

Here is a list of dupont dealers in your area. I hope this helps. If they carry the Nason line it is very affordable but good paint.

Jason S: Dear sir would you have any paint formulas for or other numbers for ihc white cap white other than RM 902 or PPG 8615 the suppliers I have talked to are having a difficult time referencing these codes.
Wm.

No letter series has any white on it. The correct red is IH 50, crosses to PPG 70093/Dupont 7410. Can be crossed to other manufacurers. Whitecap white (used on 1950 Cub, SA, and C is an IH truck color, someone else may have crossed it. 902 is an IH color and is not the one you want, basing this on a previous thread that If I remember, was IH 902 being crossed to RM 902, which was supposed to be a DuPont number, not sure.

I use the Nason single stage paint, easy to work with, not as pricy as the Dupont products, but has the same wear ability as the higher priced products.

Nason is part of Dupont and color formulations are handled by Dupont's Performance Coatings, very good people to work with different tractor colors.

In Nason the Ih Red is 9066IB, this will be different than Duponts#. Because Nason is a different base they changed the mix colors to come out to be the same color red, therfore a different mix number. The only white color shown by Dupont is 59664 and this should be able to cross to Nason.

Which IH number? there are 4 of them, IH 50, 1102B, 201, and 2150. Changed to 1102B in 1949, 201 in 1958, 2150 in 1961. I have used only PPG Omni, far as I know PPG does not change the number from Omni to Concept, etc. Different base and different mix, also. I have not been able to find PPG numbers for 1102B and 201. Next time I'm at my PPG dealer I'm going to have them cross 9066IB-that is IB and not 1B?-to 70093 (IH 50) and 71310 (IH 2150) for both Omni and Concept and see which it is and to see if they are different numbers for Omni and Concept--I don't expect them to be different, but if they are I have learned something.

I am choosing the white colour so how much paint will I need?
1 litre, 1&1/2 litres, 2 litres.?
My reasons will become evident for my choice of paint once the tractor is reassembled.

Dear fellows:
All the codes that you have given are me for WHITE in particular no one out of the outlets ; NAPA CARQUEST are able to match any of the codes in any way for the acrylic urathane paint { even using the cod of the IHC bought paint can} did not reveal a paint match.
SO I am still no further ahead for paint.
Any suggestions for codes
Wm.

You are painting a Farmall BN white? That is not the color they were painted. If you insist, about a gallon or 3.784 liters. The BN had no white on it.

I don't understand what you are trying to say.

The tractor isn't supposed to be white so look at their paint chart and pick one. That is the one it is supposed to be.

Well Fellows:
I am still searching for paint for this tractor. By the way this is one that was sent out when IHC was testing touch control. So the choice of paint.
Any way I have contacted some one who may be able to assist me with the formuli. Then I can take that is the local dealers.

Here's a link to Rod's paint codes for most tractors. He has PPG and Dupont's paint codes.
I used PPG's Omni paint code 71310 for a Troy Bilt tiller in 2006. If you're going to use hardner you need a supplied air system. You don't want to use just a repirator. Serious health issues from breathing that spray. Hal
