I have been restoring an old pickup. This past weekend I was using an angle grinder and cup brush to remove paint and rust from the box. I had the end gate all cleaned up and brushed on some rust converter to kill the rust in all of the small pits. I looked at it tonight and the look is fantastic. It has a great antique patina. I had always planned on painting the truck dark green but I love the look of the end gate the way it is. Could I just clear coat over the rust converter. If it matters I have been using PlasiKote Rust Converter which is made by Valspar.
